CC Powerslam: The Ninth Wonder of the World

por Philip Federico

This isn't exactly the time to put up a new episode of Powerslam, but sometimes you have to say what is on your mind. That is what this episode is about. Chyna has passed away at the age of 45, leaving a legacy behind that cannot be forgotten. In this episode of Powerslam, Dustin and Fletch talk about Chyna's career and post-career, and pay tribute to one of the biggest hearts in sports entertainment.

CC Powerslam #27 - Olé, Olé, Olé

por Philip Federico

Welcome to the 26th episode of CC Powerslam, Capsule Computers Official Wrestling Podcast! In this episode, Dustin and Fletcher go over a good handful of topics, such as this week's Raw, TNA, and Chyna. As I am typing this, the news about Chyna is just breaking so keep in mind this was made two days beforehand. My own response to this tragedy will come soon in article form.

Capsule Computers Podcast Episode 104 - Elephants Not Allowed

por Philip Federico

CC-Unplugged-Main-Logo

A long time ago I had a house that I was proud of when I decided a garden would compliment the soil that bordered the residence. The garden of flowers was stunning and lovely. Opal, a former resident who I did not like (an elephant), convinced Big Top to move in right on top of my flowers and ever since, I have hated elephants. They will not exist where Animals Cross. Oh, hi! Welcome to another episode of CC Unplugged, where Dustin Spencer and Garrett Cheater have united once again to bring you news, talks, and so on. This episode we discuss the new Animal Crossing, Metal Gear, have a debate on skin breathing, and catch you up on Konsplosion. Its like having powers, but not as secret.

When the Clock Strikes is a 3-piece pop-punk band founded by Steven Walker, Juice Kirts, & Daniel Basden in the late spring of 2014. Steven introduced his friends Daniel & Juice to each other through a series of jams, and the trio started writing songs together shortly thereafter. The Muskogee natives specialize in writing up-tempo, emotionally charged songs with intentional lyrics. The band has also expresses their affinity for video game culture by covering themes from their favorite games. The band's first recording, the Glowing in the Dark EP, was recorded with CJ Cochran at Tiger Hart Studios in Tulsa, OK. It was released digitally on November 1st, 2014.

UUULLTRRAAAAAAAAA COOOOOOMMBBBOOOOOO! Yes, I've used that half to death... actually most would argue I've bludgeoned it to a pulp. But this has been 17 years in the makingKiller Instinct is finally only a week away from release, and today I got to interview the extremely generous and talented fellow Aussie, Mick Gordon, composer for not only the Xbox One fighter, but the next Wolfenstein: The New Order and a fantastic-looking horror-exploration title called Routine, developed by indie team Lunar Software. After his stellar PAX Australia panel, we just had to talk to him further.

It's a long interview at over 90 minutes, as we covered the musical design and production processes behind all three games' soundtracks and scores, although we notably go in-depth on every revealed Killer Instinct character's theme. We also touch upon the possibility of a new Killer Cuts album release, how Mick failed miserably at his first attempt to impress Double Helix and more. For those of you who want to specifically hear the Wolfenstein: The New Order part, jump ahead to around the 74 min 37 second mark. For those particularly interested in Routine, skip to the 83 min 30 second mark. Just hit play below and enjoy.

Capsule Computers Podcast - Interview with Bill Watterson; Lost Planet 3's Jim Peyton

por Philip Federico

Bill-Watterson-Lost-Planet-3-01

Today, we had a great opportunity to speak with the wonderful, generous and talented Cleveland, Ohio native Bill Watterson - voice of Lost Planet 3's main protagonist Jim Peyton; a miner on a NEVEC contract to join the crew on E.D.N. III, drilling for the natural resource known as T-Energy.

We spoke for over an hour, talking about his work on the game, first experience with video game performance capture in L.A. Noire, collection of He-Man action figures, unadulterated love for Marvel and of course, what makes him character tick and just why fans will come to love him in the upcoming Capcom published, Spark Unlimited developed title. Did you know early on in development - talking vertical slice/pitching days - this prequel to the original Lost Planet had a more stylised look? Imagine an almost cel-shaded Lost Planet?! (although we're sure it wasn't planned to be that cartoon-ish).

We also found out how he thinks he would actually fare in the extreme conditions of the icy planet. All around, it was a fun interview with a real down-to-Earth bloke - yes, we declare him an honorary Aussie now. Check out our audio interview with Bill below and let us know what you thought of it in the comments section!
